The ErgoAcademie will organize a (2-day) taping course “Treating without pain” with Allison Taylor (Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) from Sydney University, Australia).
This course is designed for occupational therapists and hand therapists to explore current treatment concepts for the hand and upper extremity, including Kinesio Taping, Mobilization with Motion “MWM”, cupping (MFD) and IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization).
The (2-day) taping course “Treating without pain” will explore different treatment options for common upper extremity diagnoses. It will teach you how to treat without pain and start to assess the patient from the perspective of the 4 S”s- Skin, Scar, Sensation and Swelling.
Discussion and demonstration of how fascia, muscle imbalance and joint alignment can contribute to pain and ROM, will be integrated throughout the course. Outside the box thinking, including, joint positioning and alignment, Kinesio Taping, and skin and fascial mobilization, will all be demonstrated by Allison Taylor.
There will also be extensive lab time which will allow participants to gain a hands-on knowledge of how these techniques can assist with UE (upper extremity) rehab.
ProgramDay 1 and 2: 9:00 - 18:00 (Walk in 8:30)
